Skill at Arms Equipment
Tentpegging equipment is a rarity! Some members are indeed using 'antiques' for their true purpose, probably much to the horror of collectors out there.
Other riders use contemporary equipment specifically made and either made in the UK or imported from overseas associations.

The Lance

It is a minimum length of 2.4m and maximum of 2.7m with a metal point and butt.

It can be made of a variety of material. Traditionally lances in the UK were made of bamboo but now they tend to be carbon fibre, aluminium or wood

The Sword

In the UK the swords used are 1908 patterns. Both original swords and also replicas are used. The length of the blade is a minimum of 750mm and a maximum of 900mm

The Pegs

The pegs come in three sizes 3inch, 2inch and 1 inch. Originally these were made from wood but now they tend to be made from corrugated plastic. In other countries they use cardboard and other local material
